Tasty Careers nominated for industry excellence awards
Tasty Careers, the game-changing industry careers education and recruitment programme backed by the National Skills Academy for Food & Drink, has been shortlisted in two categories of the Food and Drink Federation’s annual industry excellence awards.
The FDF Awards celebrate exceptional innovation, competitiveness and talent in the UK’s food and drink industry with entries from right across the food and drink supply chain.
“We are delighted that Tasty Careers has been nominated for both the Best Education Initiative and Best Digital Transformation project, said NSAFD CEO Louise Cairns.
“The goals of Tasty Careers are simple, to attract more new young talent into the industry challenge outdated stereotypes of industry jobs and demonstrate how the industry is open to ambition across a variety of disciplines. Tasty Careers has been successful in achieving this by talking in a language young people understand and making maximum use of the interactive digital spaces and social media they inhabit.”
The Tasty Careers.org.uk website receives around 175,000 pageviews a year and more than 500 young staff from 100 firms now visit local schools and colleges as Tasty Ambassadors.
“Importantly, Tasty Careers is about guiding young people into real jobs,” commented NSAFD Head of Marketing Amy Crooks.
“As well as informing young people about the incredible variety of career choices on offer and the study paths that lead to them, the ‘live jobs’ section of the website has now been used as an active, and free, recruitment channel by more than 100 businesses.”
The winners of the FDF Awards will be announced in London on September 15. A full list of nominees is available on the FDF website.
