Business involvement vital for review of Food and Drink National Occupational Standards

The National Skills Academy for Food & Drink (NSAFD) is currently reviewing the following suites of National Occupational Standards (NOS) and want businesses from across the industry to get involved:

  • Meat and Poultry (74)
  • Fish and Shellfish (30)
  • Support Operations (8) – Security Services and Waste Disposal Services

Business and stakeholder involvement and input is essential to ensure that the benchmarks for standards of performance in the industry remain up-to-date, fit for purpose and reflect the views and needs of the industry now and moving forward.

NOS are used across the UK and are the building blocks for training, qualifications and apprenticeships as well as professional development. They set down industry expectations for employees for the tasks undertaken in their roles including the specific skills, knowledge and understanding required to perform effectively on a daily basis.
