
Skills England has now released the first wave of Apprenticeship Units as part of its move towards a more modular and flexible apprenticeship system. As these changes begin to take shape, the NSAFD is gathering employer insight to ensure the food and drink sector’s needs are clearly represented.
Recently, the NSAFD met with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and Skills England’s Apprenticeship Units lead for a productive discussion on how the new units could work in practice for our industry. The session highlighted strong engagement from employers and a shared commitment to ensuring the system supports both workforce development and operational realities.
