Funding cuts confirmed for Apprenticeship Standards

Plans by the Institute of Apprenticeships (IfA) to review funding for 31 standards were announced in May 2018, and earlier this week, the institute said a further 30 would be reviewed at the request of apprenticeships and skills minister Anne Milton.

As part of this review, the IfA has today announced that there would be a cut of £5,000 to the funding of the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship. There will also be a cut of £2,000 to the Operations/Departmental Manager Stanard, and £500 to the Team Leader/Supervisor Standard.

A spokesman for the IfA said: “Our priority throughout has been to ensure standards have the appropriate funding band to support high-quality delivery and provide value for money for employers and the taxpayer, while ensuring consistency in the way older and newer standards are funded”.
