Improve now operates in England through the National Skills Academy for Food & Drink. Its roles in qualification development, research and setting the National Occupation Standards are complemented by the Academy’s position as a catalyst for positive change in the skills system and an unbiased source of specialist industry training.
The National Skills Academy for Food & Drink Scotland, provides industry support on skills in collaboration with a range of stakeholders. Our key areas of focus include developing Scottish vocational qualifications for the sector, developing National Occupational Standards and setting Modern Apprenticeship frameworks.
The National Skills Academy for Food & Drink Wales, is instrumental in producing a comprehensive industry response to Welsh Government ambitions to formulate a new strategy for sector growth which has resulted in the creation of the new business-led Wales Food & Drink Industry Board.
Food & Drink Sector Skills (FDSS) is an employer led body which exists to champion the skills agenda on behalf of the Northern Ireland Agri-food manufacturing sector. Food & Drink Sector Skills is self-sustaining through the delivery of a variety of programmes. FDSS is self-sustaining through the delivery of a variety of programmes. The partnership between FDSS and NSAFD ensures that the skills needs of local employers are reflected on a national basis.
