LI Europe is proud to celebrate the success of its apprentice, Jaroslaw Baldyga, who received a Highly Commended recognition in the Process Improvement Apprentice of the Year category at the OAL Awards 2025, held on Thursday 16th October at York Racecourse.
Organised by Occupational Awards Limited (OAL), the annual event recognises outstanding achievements across a wide range of apprenticeship disciplines — from engineering and manufacturing to food and drink, business, and creative industries. The awards brought together leading employers, training providers, and apprentices from across the UK for an afternoon of celebration overlooking York Racecourse, complete with afternoon tea.
This year’s judging panel featured 23 judges representing a range of business sectors, across six panels. Each category celebrated a single winner, with a select few also recognising Highly Commended finalists, reflecting the exceptional calibre of talent across all nominations.
The Process Improvement Apprentice of the Year award saw Darren McGullen of Arla named overall winner, while LI Europe’s own apprentice, Jaroslaw Baldyga of Tayto, earned a Highly Commended award for his outstanding contribution to process improvement.
Sponsored by industry leaders pladis, Nestlé, Haribo, and Coca-Cola, the event also honoured achievements across categories such as Mentor/Coach of the Year, EDI Champion, Engineering and Manufacturing Apprentice of the Year, and Large Employer of the Year, among others.
“We’re incredibly proud of Jaroslaw’s achievement and the recognition he’s earned at such a respected national event,” said Erica Bassford, Head of Apprenticeships, LI Europe. “His success reflects both his personal dedication and the quality of the apprenticeship programmes we deliver in partnership with leading employers.”
LI Europe congratulates all winners, highly commended finalists, and organisers for an inspiring celebration of skills, excellence, and the power of continuous improvement.
