Food Manufacture Excellence Awards 2023 press release

The hunt is on for the UK’s best food and drink processor, with the launch of the leading competition in the sector.

The Food Manufacture Excellence Awards recognise excellence across the UK food and drink manufacturing industry. They shine a light on the best operators, the best people and the best factories up and down the country and we’re urging all UK-based food and drink processors to get their entries in.

This year, along with our sister company Occupational Awards Limited we are very excited to be sponsoring these awards.

The competition, which has been running for more than two decades now, and is completely free to enter, honours food and drink players of all sizes and across all categories, from ambient to plant-based products. Winners are then entered into the running to scoop the top accolade of Food Manufacture Company of the Year 2023.

Rod Addy, editor of Food Manufacture, which organises the awards, said: “These awards really are the ones to win if you’re running a UK food or drink manufacturing business. It recognises the often-unsung work done by staff at all levels and can give your operation a real shot in the arm.

“The sector has been through a challenging time, and there’s more hurdles on the horizon and to be in the running for the chance of a crack at a Food Manufacture Excellence Award is a great way to give your business a boost.

“Winning an award not only gives recognition to your staff and rewards them for doing a great job. It also gives your customers a boost, knowing their supplier is the best in the business, not to mention attracting the attention of fresh customers to check your award-winning operation out.

“But you’ve got to be in it to win it, so if you’re not entering, you’re absolutely missing out on a great opportunity to supercharge your operation. Enter now!”

This year’s competition sees the launch of a Pet Food Manufacturing Company of the Year for the first time alongside other regular categories. And the Partnership Award has been expanded to allow foodservice or retail customers as well as other service providers to file an entry showcasing a great example of collaboration with named manufacturing partners. Either side of the partnership can enter, so long as the other partner is named.
