Seafood Training Academy

Centre of Excellence: Seafood

The Seafood Training Academy is a partnership of organisations and Seafood Training Networks with the common aim of providing learning and training opportunities to anyone working in the fish and shellfish industry in the UK.  The Academy is managed and supported by Seafish.

The Seafood Training Academy has a large and expanding website with free learning resources and information on seafood, fish and shellfish apprenticeships, occupational standards and training courses.  The Academy website has sections that cover training courses (quality, filleting, mongering, smoking, food safety, bivalves etc.), qualifications and apprenticeships, online learning resources (food safety, smoking etc.), a comprehensive online guide to seafood species etc.

The Seafood Training Academy works with independent trainers, Seafish approved training providers, Seafish recognised apprenticeship providers as well as the Seafood Training networks established for wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.

If you want access to hygiene training in languages other than English, or need a free online learning programme in fish smoking then go to the Seafood Academy site or email or contact one of the organisations that we are working with.

With trainers and providers from Shetland to Cornwall and Ipswich to Belfast, the Seafood Training Academy is ideally placed to meet all of your fish and shellfish training needs.
