Industry Approved Apprenticeship Programme (IAAP) Provider:
Carlisle College has been delivering high quality engineering programmes for more than 60 years. Recent investment of over £30 million in our city centre campus provides world class facilities and has created a great teaching environment, so that learning is relevant, realistic, enjoyable and successful.
Carlisle College has extensive experience of delivering high quality training programmes to the extensive food and drink industry in Cumbria and South Scotland and can provide training up to higher education level in engineering, mechanical, electrical and multi skilled disciplines as well as to food operatives. Staff are highly qualified with specialist knowledge and a wealth of industry experience in the food and drink sector.
Carlisle College can manage your full apprenticeship programme, from recruitment to off the job training via block or day release patterns and work based assessment. We can also provide progression onto higher education programmes or Higher Apprenticeships.
Further investment plans are scheduled into 2016 with the development of an Advanced Manufacturing Centre (AMC) which will deliver an employer-led curriculum at all levels to the engineering, manufacturing, and processing sectors. The AMC on the existing city centre campus will have new computer aided manufacturing equipment, laser cutters, welding simulation equipment, 3D print and reverse engineering facilities.
The AMC will have full food production facilities and will accommodate a new process control room enabling the simulation of a real-life engineering manufacturing set-up, whilst students will also be able to train on the installation, control and maintenance of plant equipment.
With great transportation links, proximity to Scotland and direct rail links on the West Coast Main Line, Carlisle is full of history and culture and provides a safe, friendly and rich environment in which to learn.
